Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde announced that the state plans to hire 7,000 teachers for its public primary schools.

Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), revealed this information on Friday at a news conference in Ibadan.
Additionally, the state administration announced that one hundred (100) carers will work in the state’s special needs subsector.
Speaking during the briefing, Adeniran stated that, in keeping with Governor Makinde’s pledge, recruitment activities for the teachers had already begun.

As a result of the teacher shortage in our public elementary schools, Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the hiring of 7,000 new teachers, fulfilling both his campaign pledge and the desires of the people of Oyo State. He also gave his approval for the hiring of 100 carers for our special schools, he added.

According to Adeniran, the recruitment process needs to be made public in order to prevent con artists from spreading false information.

He urged prospective applicants to be cautious of con artists and not fall for phoney persons.

Adeniran emphasised that the Board has not designated any individual to serve as an agent, and further stated that the Board has only recently commenced the preparatory work for the hiring procedure.

He encouraged applicants to visit the Board without holding back and to not rely on information from outside sources.
“This Board will set forth the procedures to be followed in order to have a free, fair, and credible exercise.

He stated that the Board is collaborating with other pertinent entities to ensure a smooth process and that the Board will make the announcement about the application deadline at a later date.

According to Adeniran, the Board will adhere rigorously to the Governor’s order to hold an exercise that will be determined by merit.
We appreciate His Excellency keeping his word. He kept his word, and may God grant him the discernment needed to handle state issues.
