The Catholic Television of Nigeria (CTV) marked a significant milestone with the celebration of its 15th Anniversary on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the prestigious Holy Trinity Events Centre in Maitama, Abuja. The event—rich in reflection and forward-looking ambition—also commemorated one year since the station’s successful migration to GOtv (Channel 115), a strategic step that has broadened its reach and deepened its impact across Nigeria.

The anniversary dinner and award night attracted an impressive gathering of dignitaries, media professionals, clergy, partners, and well-wishers, underscoring the station’s growing influence as a faith-based broadcasting platform committed to moral values, social development, and nation-building.

A central highlight of the evening was the renewed call for support towards CTV’s expansion agenda. As witnessed by Governance Today Nigeria magazine and its online platform, the management unveiled plans for a major upgrade, including migration to DStv—an ambitious move that requires substantial investment in modern broadcast equipment and infrastructure. The station disclosed a funding requirement exceeding ₦220 million to actualize this next phase of growth.

Encouragingly, the atmosphere was marked by generosity and commitment, as attendees and award recipients made notable pledges and expressed readiness to support the station’s vision in both the immediate and long term. This collective goodwill reflects a shared belief in CTV’s mission and its critical role in shaping values-driven media content.

In a moment of heartfelt acknowledgment, profound appreciation was extended to individuals, organizations, and partners who have sustained the station since its inception. Their contributions—financial, technical, and voluntary—have been instrumental in positioning CTV as a credible and impactful voice within Nigeria’s broadcast landscape.

GTN observes that beyond the celebration, the event served as a reaffirmation of purpose. CTV’s 15-year journey stands as a testament to resilience, faith, and the transformative power of purposeful media in a rapidly evolving society.

As the station charts a new course toward greater visibility and technological advancement, stakeholders and the general public are encouraged to continue supporting the platform through viewership, subscriptions, partnerships, and financial contributions.

Notable personalities in attendance included Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; respected Catholic cleric, Fr. Maigama; former Inspector-General of Police, Mike Okiro; and the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, who was ably represented by his Commissioner for Information. The gathering also featured captains of industry and a wide spectrum of distinguished personalities.

The evening was a vibrant blend of celebration and connection—filled with laughter, fine dining, recognition, and meaningful interactions—reflecting the spirit of unity and shared purpose among Nigerians.

CTV’s story is not merely one of longevity, but of impact—and its next chapter promises even greater relevance in Nigeria’s media and moral discourse.
