The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced electronic membership registration across all wards in the state. The e-registration exercise began on Monday and will run until the end of January to capture both old and new members into a unified digital register.

APC Spokesman, Seye Oladejo, described the exercise as a critical reform aimed at strengthening internal democracy and sustaining the party’s electoral dominance. He said the e-registration exercise is not optional, cosmetic, or expendable, but a necessary political reform and a decisive statement of intent by a party determined to remain disciplined, progressive, and electorally dominant in a rapidly evolving democratic environment.

Oladejo also said that political parties that shy away from reform inevitably decay. He added that the APC has chosen the harder but nobler path—order over chaos, structure over arbitrariness, and transparency over convenience.

According to him, the e-registration provides a level playing ground for old and new members alike to have a clear, undisputed footnote in the party without fear or favor. He also said that the exercise dismantles gate-keeping structures and sends a strong message that no one owns the APC beyond its constitution and collective will.

Oladejo noted that credible congresses, transparent primaries, and legitimate leadership selection would remain impossible without a reliable digital register. He added that anyone uncomfortable with this reality must explain their preference for obscurity, manipulation, and disorder and that the APC will not retreat into the politics of shadows.

Oladejo also said that the e-registration is a strategic mobilization weapon that speaks directly to youths, professionals, and first-time participants who demand efficiency and clarity. He added that by embracing technology, the APC once again proves that it is not trapped in the past but fully aligned with the future of political organization and engagement.

Oladejo said that a data-driven membership system enhances the party’s electoral readiness and governance capacity. He added that it strengthens grassroots coordination, sharpens campaign strategy, and ensures that the party remains in constant touch with its base and that a party that truly knows its members cannot be ambushed at the polls.

Oladejo urged all APC members and stakeholders across Lagos to participate actively, describing the exercise as a collective obligation to the party.
