Afrobeats star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has officially joined the Accord Party, politically aligning himself with his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. He announced his decision via his verified X handle, stating that he would be in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Wednesday to collect his party membership card.
In his post, Davido wrote, “I Will be live in Osun to pick up my @AccordPartyNG membership card @ IMOLE HOUSE OSOGBO Tomorrow… see you soon ACCORDINGLY 😇 Cc @AAdeleke_01.”
This move comes shortly after Governor Adeleke’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party, which he announced on December 9, 2025, during an event attended by national and state party leaders. The governor cited a leadership crisis within the PDP as his reason for the switch, having previously joined the Accord Party on November 6 after extensive consultations.
Davido had shown his support for his uncle’s political shift by reposting the announcement on social media, captioning it “Jeje…”
As the political landscape evolves in Osun State, Davido’s entry into the Accord Party signals his growing involvement in political affairs alongside his family’s legacy.
