The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the Bola Tinubu-led administration to prioritize governance over politics, citing concerns over a tax law disparity and Nigeria’s reduced regional and global influence.
Specifically, the PDP is calling for investigation into the alleged disparity between the enacted and gazetted copies of the tax law and a six-month extension for the commencement of the Tax Act to allow for investigation and enlightenment campaigns.
They are also faulting Tinubu’s absence at an ECOWAS meeting and citing rising insecurity and visa restrictions imposed on Nigerians by the United States as evidence of poor leadership. The PDP is urging the government to invest in critical infrastructure and prioritize governance over political maneuvering.
