The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who issued the statement on behalf of the FG.

In his statement, Tunji-Ojo extended congratulations to all Muslims, both at home and in the Diaspora, on the occasion. He encouraged the Muslim community to embody the spirit of sacrifice and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to use this period to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

The minister assured Nigerians that the ongoing reforms and initiatives under President Bola Tinubu’s administration are aimed at restoring the nation to a path of progress. He wished the Muslim Ummah a joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration and called on all Nigerians to support the current administration in its efforts to enhance the country’s greatness.

Muslims worldwide, including those in Nigeria, will observe the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir on June 6, as it falls on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijjah, with Arafat Day being observed on Thursday, June 5.
