Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Child Welfare on Children’s Day

In a heartfelt address marking the 2025 International Children’s Day, President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of Nigerian children. He described children as the “pride and future of our great nation” and emphasized the urgent need to combat bullying, violence, and neglect affecting millions across the country.

Tinubu highlighted alarming statistics indicating that up to 65% of school-age children in Nigeria experience some form of bullying. He announced bold initiatives aimed at strengthening child protection frameworks and promoting safe learning environments, urging families, schools, and communities to collaborate in creating a nurturing atmosphere.

The President also announced a comprehensive review of the Child Rights Act and the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act to enhance protections for children. He stressed that community involvement is crucial in ensuring child safety and called for a nationwide campaign encouraging vigilance in protecting children.

Tinubu concluded his address with a vision for a Nigeria where every child can grow in dignity, peace, and love, assuring that their rights will be fiercely protected.
