Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralized five Boko Haram terrorists during an operation in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State on Sunday, May 11, 2025. The offensive took place in the Ladin Buttu region, a known stronghold of the terrorist group.

According to Captain Reuben Kovangiya, acting deputy director of Army Public Relations, the troops used superior firepower and tactical precision to neutralize the insurgents in an intense firefight. In addition to the neutralization, five AK-47 magazines fully loaded with ammunition and other combat materials were recovered from the site.

The operation is part of a broader strategy to dismantle Boko Haram’s terrorist network and cut off their logistical routes. Military sources confirmed that signs of blood were found along the insurgents’ retreat paths, indicating that some of them had been wounded.

Major General Abdusalam Abubakar, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, praised the troops for their bravery and discipline during the operation, noting that this success aligns with the renewed offensive strategy ordered by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede.
