President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism while strengthening diplomatic ties with global partners. In a statement made prior to a closed-door session of the Federal Executive Council at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, he emphasized the need for clarity of purpose guided by his “Renewed Hope Agenda” to build a prosperous Nigeria.

Tinubu’s comments come in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump designating Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” due to alleged security issues, a characterization that the Nigerian government has described as a misrepresentation.

Addressing the nation, Tinubu stated, “We are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism.” He highlighted the importance of collaboration with international partners to enhance security and foster economic growth.

Despite facing political challenges, Tinubu expressed confidence in Nigeria’s economic recovery, citing the successful oversubscription of a $2.3 billion Eurobond as a sign of investor confidence. He urged unity among Nigerians and reiterated the government’s resolve to pursue peace and prosperity.

Tinubu commended his cabinet for their dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing the need for focused implementation of government reforms.
