President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the emblem and appeal fund for the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, praising the military for their exceptional courage and resilience in tackling security threats.
The ceremony, held at the State House in Abuja monitored by Governance Today Nigeria, saw notable donations, including N200 million from President Tinubu, N100 million from Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and N20 million from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, totaling N320 million.
Tinubu highlighted the armed forces’ achievements, including reclaiming territories, restoring normalcy, and advancing security objectives. He also announced initiatives to improve troop welfare, such as upgraded barracks, enhanced allowances, and expanded healthcare.
The event featured a closed-door meeting with top military and security leaders, emphasizing national unity and support for the armed forces.
