President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in new Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and members of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House in Abuja.
The oath-taking followed an introduction by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Media and Publicity at the State House. The new INEC Commissioners are Mallam Tukur Abdulrazaq Yusuf, representing the North-West, and Professor Sunday Nwambam Aja, representing Ebonyi State.
Also sworn in were two new members of the CCB: Ikpeme Kenneth Ndem from Cross River State and retired Justice Buba Ibrahim Nyaure from Taraba State.
Attendees at the meeting included the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Finance Minister Wale Edun; Budget and Economic Planning Minister Atiku Bagudu; and Information Minister Mohammed Idris.
The swearing-in comes shortly after the FEC’s recent approval of the “Nigeria First” economic policy, which mandates prioritizing locally made goods and services in federal government procurement.
