In his 2025 Christmas goodwill message, President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his government’s commitment to safeguarding religious freedom throughout Nigeria. He assured citizens that protecting people of all faiths from violence and discrimination is a top priority for his administration.
During his address, Tinubu emphasized the importance of national security, unity, and stability, stating, “Every citizen, irrespective of religion or ethnic background, deserves safety, dignity, and equal protection under the law.” He wished all Christians in Nigeria and worldwide a Merry Christmas and prayed for peace, particularly among differing religious communities.
The President reflected on his administration’s efforts since taking office in 2023, mentioning ongoing consultations with leaders of various religious groups to address growing concerns over intolerance and insecurity. He promised to strengthen these engagements to foster cooperation in preventing conflict and promoting peaceful coexistence.
In addition to his message of unity and peace, Tinubu advised citizens traveling during the holiday season to remain law-abiding and patient on the roads. He urged Nigerians to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ, describing him as the “Prince of Peace,” and to consider the contributions that Christians make towards the country’s progress.
As Christmas approaches, Tinubu’s message highlights his administration’s resolve to promote inclusivity and protect the rights of all citizens, encouraging a harmonious environment where everyone can freely practice their beliefs.
