President Bola Tinubu has appointed Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, effective August 14, 2025. This announcement was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.
The appointment comes as the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji, is set to retire on August 13, 2025, upon reaching the age of 60. The board noted that Olumode brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served in various capacities, including heading the Human Resources division at the Federal Fire Service headquarters.
Olumode has completed numerous mandatory trainings and command courses, both locally and internationally. He is also affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management.
The board expressed gratitude to the outgoing Controller-General for his significant contributions and initiatives during his tenure.
