The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that 2,572,054 registrations have been fully completed so far in the first phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. This figure includes 1,503,832 online completions and 1,068,222 physical registrations as of November 28, 2025.

INEC will commence the display of the voters’ register after the first quarter of the CVR exercise, allowing for claims and objections from December 15 to 21. Victoria Eta-Messi, INEC’s director of Voter Education and Publicity, emphasized the importance of this window for eligible citizens to verify their details, report inaccuracies, and identify any ineligible or deceased individuals on the register.

The ongoing CVR exercise began with online pre-registration on August 18, 2025, followed by in-person registration on August 25, 2025, across all 774 Local Government Areas, State Offices, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The first quarter of this exercise will formally close on December 10, 2025.

In accordance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2022, the Commission will display the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections from December 15 to 21, 2025, at the Local Government Offices where the registration took place.

Eta-Messi also mentioned that by the end of the 13th week of the exercise, a total of 9,891,801 online pre-registrations had been received nationwide, of which 2,572,054 registrations were fully completed.

It is important to note that the CVR exercise in Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory remains suspended due to electoral activities. New dates for resumption in these locations will be communicated in due course. The second phase of the exercise is set to resume on January 5, 2026.
