President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence that Nigeria will emerge resilient despite recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump. During a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, conveyed the President’s commitment to addressing concerns seriously and through dialogue.

Idris emphasized that the Federal Government is prioritizing constructive engagement and has established new communication channels with international organizations to clarify Nigeria’s reforms and strategies. He noted that the President is taking a calm approach, actively working to ensure that the international community understands Nigeria’s efforts.

The Minister highlighted recent changes in the leadership of the Armed Forces, which were made prior to the U.S. concerns, indicating ongoing efforts to enhance national security. The government is committed to addressing both domestic and international issues through sustained dialogue and unity among religious leaders.

Idris reaffirmed that President Tinubu would maintain active engagement with the international community to strengthen cooperation in tackling security challenges and dispelling negative perceptions about Nigeria. He underscored the importance of national cohesion and the government’s determination to eliminate criminal elements contributing to these misconceptions.

In light of Trump’s threats regarding alleged anti-Christian violence in Nigeria, the President remains focused on nation-building and fostering unity among all Nigerians.
