Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), presided over the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting for the first time on Tuesday. Yilwatda, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, was elected during the 14th meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) on July 24, 2025.
The NWC meeting, held at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, focused on several key issues, including the planned electronic registration of party members and the schedule for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship elections. Although details of the meeting were not disclosed to journalists, the administrative body discussed preparations for the electronic registration.
Yilwatda also welcomed Senator Hope Uzodinma, the chairman of APC governors, along with Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo. After inspecting the ICT/Data Centre, Uzodinma expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the e-registration exercise.
Yilwatda stated that the electronic registration aims to better understand party membership and support across Nigeria, helping to predict voter support and strengthen the party’s base. He emphasized that this initiative would enhance research, technology, and member support at all levels.Stop
