Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah has set a N870 billion Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target for 2026, urging Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to intensify revenue mobilisation amid global economic uncertainties. Speaking during a New Year service at Government House Chapel, Enugu, the governor explained that the IGR target forms a major pillar of the state’s N1.62 trillion 2026 budget, with N387 billion projected from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) and N329 billion from capital receipts.

Mbah called on MDAs to improve efficiency, transparency, and service delivery, emphasizing that revenue growth is directly linked to the quality of services provided to citizens and investors. He stressed the need for discipline, innovation, and collaboration across government institutions and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reforms that expand the state’s economic base and improve ease of doing business.

The service was attended by the deputy governor, members of the State Executive Council, lawmakers, judicial officers, and traditional rulers.
