Former Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai has stated that the opposition coalition is committed to ensuring President Bola Tinubu’s removal in the 2027 elections. He made these remarks during the second edition of the Arewa Tech Fest in Katsina.
El-Rufai emphasized that while they plan to unseat Tinubu, they intend to keep Bosun Tijani as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy due to his commendable work.
He explained, “The organizing team had to come without me because I was attending a crucial coalition meeting last night to strategize for Tinubu’s removal. The Katsina airport closes after 8 PM, which is why I couldn’t arrive until this morning.”
As a prominent figure in the opposition, el-Rufai is actively working to form a broad coalition of political parties aimed at challenging Tinubu’s presidency. His political alignment shifted in March when he transitioned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
