Former presidential candidate and media entrepreneur, Dele Momodu, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Momodu announced his decision in Benin City, the Edo State capital, while addressing supporters and political associates.

Speaking at the gathering, Momodu said his entry into the ADC was motivated by a desire to promote the collective interests of the people rather than personal ambition. He stressed that he was not seeking any elective office in Edo State or elsewhere, but was focused on contributing meaningfully to the political development of his state.

Reflecting on his personal journey, Momodu spoke about reconnecting with his roots in Iwe, describing it as a process that took decades of hard work and careful planning. He noted that establishing a home in his community underscored his commitment and sense of belonging, dismissing claims that he lacked roots in the state.

According to him, his decision to re-engage actively in politics was about service and advocacy.

Momodu said he was determined to use his experience and platform to advance the welfare of the people, insisting that his involvement in the ADC was anchored on principles rather than the pursuit of political office.
