The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has labeled the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a corrupt party, claiming that leadership is determined by money, ticket-trading, and manipulation of primaries. This statement was made by ADC national chairman, Senator David Mark, during the inauguration of the Delta State Leadership Management Team (DSLMT) in Asaba.

He assured attendees that such malpractices would not occur within the ADC, emphasizing that “In APC, someone may win a primary, but another person pays money in Abuja and the name changes. It will not happen in ADC.” The event saw support from notable figures, including former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, who reinforced the need for integrity in party operations.

National publicity secretary Bolaji Abdullahi described the ADC as Nigeria’s last credible opposition party, asserting their grassroots support. He stated, “We may not have billions or governors, but we have the people, and we have God on our side.”

National Vice Chairman Usani Uguru Usani urged members in the Niger Delta to remain steadfast amid challenges, dismissing rumors of internal divisions. Olorogun Great Ogboru, a former governorship candidate, hailed the inauguration as a landmark moment for Delta State, reinforcing the ADC’s strategic efforts to strengthen democracy.

As the ADC seeks to position itself as a credible alternative to the ruling APC, significant changes in Delta State’s political landscape are anticipated ahead of the next elections.
