Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N890 to N825 per litre, effective February 27, 2025. This price change means that consumers in Lagos will be able to purchase petrol at MRS outlets for N860 per litre.
The reduction aims to provide relief to Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season and supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery efforts by easing the financial burden on the populace. This is the second price cut for PMS in February 2025, following an earlier decrease of N60.00 earlier this month.
In December 2024, during the holiday season, the refinery had already reduced the price of PMS by N70.50, demonstrating its commitment to lowering living costs for Nigerians.
Under the new pricing structure, petrol will be sold at different rates across various regions: N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 in the North, and N890 in the South-South and South-East. The refinery reassured the public of a stable supply of petroleum products, with sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand and support exports.
