The Federal High Court in Ibadan has annulled the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention that took place on November 15, 2025, barring Tanimu Turaki and other officials from acting as national officers of the party.

The convention, which was anticipated as a crucial event for electing a new National Working Committee (NWC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, was held at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, and drew a large number of delegates and leaders.

The ruling creates uncertainty regarding the legitimacy of the current leadership and raises concerns about the PDP’s preparations for upcoming electoral contests. Legal experts and party members are now awaiting further clarification on how this judgment will affect the party’s national leadership structure.

This development adds to the ongoing internal disputes within the PDP and poses significant questions about its future direction as it prepares for the next electoral cycle.
