Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), making the announcement via his X handle. He shared a photo of himself holding his ADC membership card, captioning it with, “It’s official.”
This move comes after his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July, prompted by ongoing internal conflicts within the party. Atiku had expressed his concerns about irreconcilable differences and the PDP moving away from its core principles in a letter addressed to the party’s chairman.
Atiku’s alignment with the ADC is significant as the party is gaining traction as a coalition-backed platform ahead of the 2027 elections.
