Bayo Ojulari has officially taken over as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), succeeding Mele Kyari. The handover ceremony took place at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Friday, as confirmed by the company’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye.

President Bola Tinubu appointed Ojulari earlier this week as part of a restructuring of the NNPCL board. In his inaugural address, Ojulari commended Kyari for his significant contributions to the growth of NNPC Ltd and pledged to build on the successes of his predecessor.

Ojulari stated that while the targets set for his management are ambitious, he is confident that with the cooperation of the company’s staff and guidance from Kyari, he can achieve the objectives. “I will be counting on your support. I will need it. I will be coming around to seek your counsel,” he expressed.

Kyari congratulated Ojulari and thanked the management and staff for their support during his tenure. He assured that he would be available to assist the new leadership as needed.

The transition marks a new chapter for NNPCL, with stakeholders hoping for continued transparency and progress under the new leadership.
