Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar met with state chairpersons of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory at his residence in Abuja. The meeting, held on Monday, was to welcome him as a new member of the party.

In a post on his official X account, Atiku shared that the delegation, led by Kogi State ADC Chairman Ogga Kingsley, expressed their enthusiasm about his formal entry into the party. Atiku emphasized the urgency of collective action to address the country’s challenges, which he described as a “rescue mission.”

He encouraged all members of the coalition to complete their registration with the ADC, stressing that inaction is not an option. “Together, we are committed to a secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria,” he stated, criticizing the current administration for its handling of national issues.

Atiku’s transition to the ADC comes after he resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July, citing internal conflicts that became irreconcilable. He characterized his departure as “heartbreaking” and expressed a desire to align with a party that shares his vision for the future.

He called on his supporters nationwide to join the ADC and participate in what he terms a new political front, positioning himself firmly against the ruling APC.

Atiku’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s challenges emphasizes the need for unity, justice, and effective leadership as essential components for a peaceful and prosperous society.
