Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has stated that the upcoming 2027 general elections will represent a significant shift for Nigeria, emphasizing that it will not be “business as usual.”
Atiku made these remarks after meeting with a delegation of Kannywood stakeholders, North West opinion leaders, and digital media influencers in Abuja. The delegation, led by Dr. Aslam Aliyu, a prominent politician from Zamfara, included members from the Kannywood industry and various advocacy groups.
Atiku, a former presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noted that opposition leaders are collaborating to devise democratic strategies aimed at unseating President Tinubu in the next election. He explained that the coalition was formed in response to the public’s demand for change amid the nation’s ongoing challenges.
He assured the group that the coalition aims to address the aspirations of the Nigerian people. “I assured the forum that 2027 will not be business as usual,” Atiku said. He urged the delegation to remain engaged and actively promote the coalition’s mission to resolve Nigeria’s pressing issues.
Recognizing the pervasive insecurity and other challenges faced by citizens, Atiku expressed confidence in the coalition’s ability to confront these problems effectively.
