The All Progressives Congress (APC) North West Zone has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. This decision was made during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Kaduna on May 18, 2025.

The meeting included key figures such as the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, governors from the region, and various party officials. During the gathering, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau I. Jibrin, prompted the crowd by asking, “Aso Rock?” to which attendees responded, “No vacancy,” signaling their support for Tinubu.

Barau expressed confidence in a potential landslide victory for the APC in 2027, attributing this optimism to the administration’s performance in addressing the nation’s challenges. He noted that the influx of opposition members into the APC reflects President Tinubu’s effective governance, particularly in tackling security and economic issues.

Ganduje emphasized the president’s commitment to the development of the North West and the entire northern region, citing various intervention projects initiated by the administration. He pointed out the establishment of the North West Development Commission as evidence of the president’s dedication to regional progress.

As the party prepares for the upcoming elections, the endorsement sets the stage for a focused campaign aimed at consolidating support across the region.
