World-renowned boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a road accident on Monday in Makun, Ogun State, along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when a Lexus SUV conveying the boxer, with registration number KRD 850 HN, collided with a stationary truck under circumstances that are still being investigated. The crash reportedly happened just before Danco Filling Station.
A source who participated in the rescue operation disclosed that Joshua sustained minor injuries and was promptly rescued from the wreckage. However, the source confirmed that two persons died on the spot as a result of the crash.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among fans, with many taking to social media to pray for the boxer’s safety and recovery, while authorities continue investigations into the cause of the accident.
