AEDC Announces Scheduled Power Outages in Parts of Abuja

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced scheduled power disruptions in various parts of Abuja due to the relocation of the 33KV DC Airport Feeder and the 132KV Kukwaba-Apo Transmission Line Towers along the Outer Southern Expressway. In a statement shared on its official X handle, AEDC informed residents that the operations will take place from January 6 to January 31, 2025, with power interruptions specifically occurring from January 6 to January 21.

The areas expected to experience outages include Lugbe and its environs, Airport Road, Kapwa, NNPC, Games Village, National Stadium, Eye Clinic, Indoor Complex, Christ Embassy Church, American International School, Spring Court, American Embassy Quarters, EFCC Headquarters, Coca-Cola, Railway, FMC, parts of Apo, parts of Gudu, Gbazango and its environs, parts of Kubwa, Bwari and its environs, parts of Jahi, parts of Jabi, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Keffi and other parts of Abuja.

In their statement, the AEDC expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and appreciated the understanding of residents during this necessary maintenance work. Residents are encouraged to make necessary arrangements to mitigate the impact of the power disruptions during this period.
