Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has issued a strong warning that war could break out if the All Progressives Congress (APC) government continues its persecution of opposition members. Speaking in Bauchi while receiving an award as Safety Ambassador from the Safety Institute of Nigeria, he expressed his deep concerns about the current political climate in Nigeria, describing it as increasingly troubling.

Mohammed revealed that he has been accused of terrorism and lamented the detention of his commissioner by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He emphasized the concerning trend of using governmental institutions, such as the EFCC and the courts, to target political opponents. Mohammed argued that the APC-led government seems intent on employing these legal mechanisms to suppress dissent and undermine political fairness.

Highlighting the potential dangers of such actions, he made it clear that if the government does not cease its current approach, serious repercussions could follow. The governor’s remarks reflect a growing tension within Nigerian politics, emphasizing the need for respect for democratic processes and an end to the oppression of political voices that differ from the ruling party’s ideology.
