Troops from Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralised three suicide bombers in a recent intelligence-driven operation along the Guduf-Pulka axis in Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State.

The operation, announced by Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, involved covert efforts by troops in collaboration with local volunteer forces. They were able to track and neutralise the bombers before they could execute their planned attacks on civilians. During the encounter, the troops recovered suicide vests and other improvised explosive devices.

Additionally, the operation resulted in heavy casualties among the terrorists escorting the bombers, compelling the remaining operatives to flee into the Mandara Mountains. Troops also seized four AK-47 rifles and destroyed two motorcycles used by the terrorists.

Preliminary intelligence indicates the bombers were sent from the Mandara Mountains by the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad faction of Boko Haram. The Theatre Command of Operation Hadin Kai continues to intensify efforts to detect and neutralise terrorist threats, while enhancing collaboration with other security agencies and community volunteer groups to safeguard the populace.
