Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has accused FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of threatening the peace of Bauchi through political intimidation and smear campaigns. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily and monitored by GTN, Mohammed denied links to banditry and alleged Wike, whom he called an “undertaker” in the PDP, is behind his problems. He claimed Wike is not a genuine member of the opposition party and is a destabilizing force.
Mohammed alleged that he is being pressured to defect to the APC and that his refusal has led to harassment, including the EFCC filing charges against Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance, Yakubu Adamu. He has written to the Attorney General of the Federation and intends to escalate the matter to the international community, seeking protection of his human rights.
Wike has responded to Mohammed’s accusations, advising him to focus on his own problems. Wike stated that Mohammed should have stayed out of Rivers State politics and that he is now facing the consequences.
