Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he may soon make public the details of a political agreement allegedly brokered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, warning that continued misrepresentation of facts could force his hand.

Wike made the remark amid ongoing political tensions and speculation surrounding past negotiations involving key political actors. He expressed frustration over what he described as deliberate distortions of the circumstances under which certain political understandings were reached.

According to the former Rivers State governor, the agreement was initiated at the highest level in the interest of political stability, stressing that he has remained silent out of respect for the presidency and the sanctity of the process. However, he cautioned that silence should not be mistaken for weakness.

Wike insisted that attempts to rewrite the narrative or portray him as acting independently of agreed terms were unacceptable. He maintained that all his actions were guided by clearly defined commitments reached through consultations facilitated by President Tinubu.

The FCT minister warned that if the misinformation persists, he would have no choice but to disclose the full details of the agreement to set the record straight.

Political observers say Wike’s comments could heighten tensions within the ruling political class, particularly as alignments ahead of future electoral contests continue to evolve.
