The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at individuals he accused of opportunistically aligning with President Bola Tinubu after the 2023 general elections, despite failing to support him when it mattered most.

Wike said many of those now publicly declaring loyalty to the President were absent during the critical campaign period and did not openly canvass support for Tinubu’s candidacy.

Speaking to stakeholders after the annual Thanksgiving ceremony of the Chairman of the South-South Development Forum, Chibudom Nwuche, in Ochigba community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike insisted that genuine supporters are identified in moments of political risk, not after electoral victory.

He assured his loyal supporters that their sacrifices during the election period would not be forgotten, stressing that commitment and consistency would ultimately be recognised and rewarded.
