The Anambra State Police Command has detained five male suspects in connection with vandalism and theft at an international company located in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area. SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesman, confirmed this in a statement.
The arrests were made during a coordinated operation on December 8 by police operatives from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Awkuzu, in collaboration with personnel from Neni Divisional Headquarters. The operatives recovered a pump action gun, live cartridges, and a motorcycle from the suspects.
According to Ikenga, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and identified a major receiver of the stolen properties. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend additional fleeing suspects and to recover the stolen and vandalized items.
