Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has categorically denied claims that he made disparaging remarks about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during a recent interview.
Reports surfaced suggesting that Obi criticized the ADC for issues related to zoning and the rotation of political offices in an interview that was purportedly published by “Advocacy for Good Governance” on YouTube. However, Obi’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Umar, refuted these claims, calling them false and malicious.
The statement from the Peter Obi Media Office emphasized that Obi has consistently expressed support for the ADC under former Senate President David Mark, asserting that the narrative circulating in the media contradicts Obi’s public position advocating for unity and cooperation in addressing Nigeria’s governance and economic challenges.
Obi’s spokesperson urged the public and ADC leadership to regard the reports as fake news, characterizing them as efforts by political operatives to mislead and distract from the imperative of combating bad governance.
