Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), attributing his departure to ongoing leadership issues within the party at the national level. In a statement posted on his Instagram account, Adeleke confirmed that he submitted his resignation to party officials on November 4, 2025.

He expressed gratitude to the PDP and its members for the opportunities he has had, both as a senator and as governor.

Recent reports indicated that Adeleke was unlikely to seek the party’s nomination for the 2026 governorship election unless the internal conflicts were resolved. While the leadership hoped that a recognized resolution by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) could influence his decision, Adeleke’s current stance suggests he may pursue other avenues.
