Lagos Police Arrest 26 for Alleged Fake Currency, Adulterated Diesel

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended 26 individuals in Eti-Osa, Lekki, for alleged possession of counterfeit currency and the production/sale of adulterated diesel.

The arrests, made on November 27, 2025, during a joint operation with the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), led to the recovery of ₦951,300 in fake notes. Police identified four suspects—Abubakar Rilean (40), Abubakar Abdullahi (35), Adamu Ibrahim Jora (35), and Michael John (30)—as being directly involved in producing and distributing the adulterated diesel, known as “rice and beans.” Ichapi Moses (30) and Samson Adike (28) were identified as suppliers.

Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh has warned against unlawful activities and assured residents of their safety, stating that the Command is intensifying efforts to maintain security. He also urged the public to provide information to aid in crime prevention
