The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 97.50% of the results from the Anambra State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal. As of 7:39 p.m. on November 8, results from 5,577 out of 5,718 polling units have been made available online.

The election featured 18 candidates, including prominent contenders such as incumbent Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, and George Nnadubem Moghalu of the Labour Party. Other candidates included Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party and Paul Chukwuka Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party.

INEC’s Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Dayo Oketola, reported that the election has been commended for its organization and transparency. Observers noted seamless operations, strong security coordination, and high PVC collection rates.

Despite these positive reports, some candidates have alleged incidents of vote buying occurring in various parts of the state during the election.

The developments in Anambra’s governorship election are being closely monitored as citizens eagerly await the final results.
