Troops from Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralized more than 50 terrorists during coordinated attacks in Borno and Yobe States. The assaults occurred between midnight and 4 a.m. on Thursday, targeting military positions in Dikwa, Mafa, Gajibo, and Katarko.
According to Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East, the troops responded with professionalism and determination, repelling the attacks and inflicting significant losses on the attackers.
Over 50 terrorists were killed, and the military operations included ground and air support, featuring precision strikes from the Air Component of OPHK. Troops also recovered a significant cache of weapons, including rifles and machine guns.
Some troops sustained injuries but are reported to be in stable condition. Intelligence indicated that the attackers maneuvered from the Cameroon axis and the Timbuktu Triangle, a known terrorist stronghold. Despite some damage to military assets, the troops maintained control of all positions.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their resilience and commitment to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
