President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to travel to Owerri, Imo State, on Tuesday, September 30, to commission several projects initiated by Governor Hope Uzodimma. This visit includes the launch of a book authored by the governor.
According to a statement from Bayo Onanuga, the President’s special adviser on information and strategy, the projects to be commissioned include the Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel, the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, the Asumpta Flyover, and the Imo Digital Learning Centre. These initiatives reflect the shared commitment of both the federal and state governments to infrastructure development and sustainable progress.
The presidency also highlighted other initiatives by Uzodimma aimed at digital and youth empowerment, such as the MylmoApp, the Imo Digital City, and the SkillUplmo Techosphere remote-work platform. These programs have reportedly trained over 40,000 young individuals in digital skills, promoting self-sufficiency and competitiveness in the global market.
Additionally, the Orashi Free Trade Zone has attracted several oil and gas companies, aligning with President Tinubu’s goals for industrialization and job creation across Nigeria. The statement emphasized that Uzodimma’s achievements in infrastructure and technology not only define his legacy but also support the broader national vision of innovation and opportunity.
Tinubu will also participate in the launch of Uzodimma’s book titled “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.” The presidency characterized this visit as a celebration of partnership and progress, showcasing Imo State’s contributions to national development.
