Okpebholo Affirms Commitment to Edo Youth Empowerment

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to empowering the youth during the 2025 Edo Youth Impact Forum held at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City. The forum, themed “Empowered Youths Transformed Future,” showcased the government’s initiatives aimed at providing the necessary tools and environment for youth success.

Represented by Secretary to the Edo State Government, Barrister Umar Ikhilor, Okpebholo emphasized the importance of youth empowerment in driving socio-economic growth. He noted that the government has implemented strategies to support young people through the Edo State Skills Development Agency, which has already trained thousands.

The governor announced the approval of an interest-free loan of N1 billion for Edo residents, including youth, aimed at fostering wealth creation and enhancing the state’s economic environment. The first tranche of this loan has already begun disbursement.

Okpebholo encouraged the youth to pursue their dreams and contribute positively to society, highlighting the potential for their ideas to lead to significant achievements. The event also featured the “Hack the Future Challenge,” where winners received seed funding to support their innovative ideas.

The forum included contributions from various leaders, including APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel, who urged youths to remain determined and harness their talents for the betterment of the nation. Other distinguished guests included commissioners and members of the Edo State House of Assembly.
