Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has publicly declared that he is no longer friends with the current Governor, Uba Sani. In an interview on Arise TV, El-Rufai expressed disappointment with Sani’s actions and ethical standards, particularly in light of ongoing probes involving his former commissioners.
El-Rufai stated, “Uba Sani has been my friend for many years, but he is not my friend anymore.” He emphasized the importance of friendship based on mutual ethical and moral standards, indicating that he could not maintain a friendship with someone who he feels has fallen short in these areas.
He also dismissed allegations that his administration siphoned billions of naira, challenging the Kaduna State House of Assembly’s claims of a N423 billion loss. El-Rufai noted that the assembly did not provide evidence for these allegations and criticized their failure to invite him for a fair hearing as part of their investigation.
In closing, El-Rufai hinted at his future relevance in Kaduna politics, suggesting that the political landscape would reveal the truth by 2027.
