In a bold move to dismantle what he terms “woke” culture, U.S. President Donald Trump is set to issue a series of executive orders aimed at curtailing diversity programs and redefining gender identity policies. This initiative comes as part of his agenda to fulfill controversial campaign promises.

On the campaign trail, Trump vehemently criticized diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, arguing they discriminate against white individuals, particularly men. He has also launched attacks on transgender rights, especially concerning participation in sports and access to gender-affirming care for minors.

Ahead of his inauguration, an incoming White House official revealed plans for the government to officially recognize only two biological sexes: male and female. This shift will terminate federal diversity programs aimed at addressing historical inequalities.

The official stated, “No longer will the federal government be promoting gender ideology,” suggesting that future official documents would strictly reflect biological sex assigned at birth. This policy change is expected to provoke significant legal challenges.

Trump’s administration intends to eliminate funding for programs that the president believes disadvantage white individuals. The official noted, “We’re going to end that,” referring to federal funding for diversity training and initiatives.

As Trump prepares to take office, concerns have surged within the LGBTQ+ community, with many fearing the implications of such policies. The LGBT National Help Center has reported a dramatic increase in calls for support since the election results, underscoring the anxiety surrounding the incoming administration’s stance on transgender rights.
