Popular United States-based streamer Kai Cenat has continued his show of support for the Makoko community in Lagos, as he paid a visit to the Makoko Children School Orphanage Home during his ongoing stay in Nigeria.

The 24-year-old content creator, whose visit to Lagos has attracted widespread attention online, spent time with the children through dancing, painting and games, describing the experience as “pleasing.”

During the visit, Cenat distributed school bags, uniforms and other essential educational materials to pupils of the orphanage.

Speaking on his experience in Lagos, Cenat expressed a strong sense of comfort and belonging in the city, attributing it to the reception he receives from residents.

“I feel very comfortable whenever I’m in Lagos. The love I get here is a big reason I keep coming back,” he said.

The streamer also reflected on his broader connection to Nigeria, describing the country as deeply significant to him.

“Being back in Nigeria means everything to me. I was here two years ago and I completely enjoyed it. Everybody showed me love. When I returned to America, I told people Nigeria is a place to visit,” he said.

He added that missing the festive period in Lagos was a major regret, noting his desire to better understand Nigerian culture.

He said, “I’m so mad that I missed December in Lagos. I just want to understand the culture more and explore it better. That’s what I’ve been doing all day.”

Cenat first visited Makoko in 2024, when he initiated plans for a school project in the community and made an initial donation of $3,000 towards its development.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday received the American streamer at the Lagos House, Marina.

Cenat, one of the most-followed streamers globally, is widely known for his live-streamed content on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube, where he commands a massive international audience, particularly among young people.
