Tension erupted in Abuja as protesting workers reportedly chased the motorcade of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, during a demonstration over unresolved welfare and salary concerns.
The workers, who are on strike, became visibly agitated as the minister’s convoy passed through the area where they had gathered.
Eyewitness accounts and circulating video footage showed the protesters chanting slogans and moving toward the convoy, demanding attention to their grievances. The action marked an escalation from earlier peaceful protests, reflecting growing frustration among the workers over what they perceive as prolonged neglect of their demands.
