Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will achieve a landslide victory in the 2027 elections. Speaking at the APC North West Stakeholders meeting in Kaduna, he attributed this optimism to a significant number of defections from opposition parties to the APC, as well as endorsements from party leaders in the North West region.

Barau emphasized the importance of unity among party members to ensure the success of the president. He stated, “It is clear in 2027, we are going to have a landslide victory, inshallah. So let us continue on the way we are going.” He highlighted that the defections are a direct result of President Tinubu’s performance in addressing various national challenges, including security and economic issues. According to him, areas that were previously inaccessible due to insecurity are now open for travel, showcasing improvements in the security situation under Tinubu’s administration.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State also spoke at the event, noting that the North West is faring better under Tinubu’s leadership. He praised the president for making tough decisions and implementing bold reforms that have begun to yield positive results. Sani pointed out that before Tinubu took office, the North West was plagued by banditry and violent crimes, but significant improvements have been made in security and agriculture since then.

Both leaders called for continued cooperation among party members to strengthen the APC and ensure a successful outcome in the upcoming elections. They believe that the current political landscape favors the APC, with Barau stating that it seems there are no other significant political parties in the region at this time.
